How do the prerequisites work for level 2 and higher courses?

For level 2 and higher courses, you must have completed the required prerequisite course(s) or have an equivalency. The prerequisites for courses are given in the “PRÉREQUIS AU COURS” section on the corresponding course page. When you register on the Qidigo platform, you must fill out a form attesting that you have the prerequisites necessary to take this course. The form includes a reference to equipment used and techniques taught that you must have mastered.

ATTENTION: During your first class, if it is observed that you don’t have the prerequisites or the knowledge necessary to take a level 2 or higher course for which you have registered, you will not be allowed to participate in the course, for safety reasons.

If you would like to have an equivalency evaluated, we can guide you with this step. You can send us a photograph what you have produced or a certificate attesting that you have passed a course in another establishment. Send us your documents or provide a link on our contact form.

How do I pay for my registration?

When you register, you pay by credit card via Paysafe, a secure payment-processing platform.

What is the schedule for my course?

You can see the schedule for your course on:

Please note that the school opens at 7:30 a.m. It is important to arrive on time to benefit from the explanations or demonstrations that take place at the beginning of class, which ensure that your learning process is safe and complete.

What materials will I need for my course?

Unless otherwise indicated in the description for your course, ÉÉAM provides the materials and tools needed to complete the exercises and/or projects, as well as a course book. Consult the section “Materials to bring” for your course for more information.

To keep the courses safe and fair, participants must work only with pieces of wood provided for the course – no personal project, outside of the training, is accepted.

All the necessary tools and protective equipment (earplugs, safety goggles) are provided. If you have your own safety equipment, we strongly encourage you to wear it during your course at ÉÉAM.

How should I dress for my course?

For safety reasons, it is important to:

  • Cover your body from knees to neck (avoid very short sleeves and very short shorts)
  • Choose fitted clothing and tuck your top into your pants
  • Wear closed shoes, ideally made of leather or another strong material
  • Tie back long hair and don’t wear jewellery
  • Do not wear bandages or splints on your limbs to avoid all risk of accidents

May I bring beverages and meals to consume during my courses at ÉÉAM?

Because it can be quite hot in the workshop, we recommend that you bring a water bottle so you can stay hydrated. For safety reasons, only closed and unbreakable water bottles are allowed in the workshop.

For full-day courses, a one-hour lunch break is included in the schedule. The ÉÉAM cafeteria has a fridge and microwave ovens available. During the week, some restaurants are a short walk away. However, few restaurants in the neighbourhood are open on the weekend, so we recommend that you bring a lunch and take advantage of the break to chat with members of our community.

What happens if I’m late for my class?

If you arrive late, the trainer may not allow you to join the group if instructions on using the machines and safety instructions have already been given. This information is essential to guaranteeing your safety and that of others in the workshop. We encourage you to arrive on time to benefit fully from the course and the experience.

How can I cancel my registration?

You can cancel your registration at any time by writing to us via the contact form. Your cancellation will take effect when we receive your request. If you cancel your registration BEFORE the course begins, you will receive a full reimbursement of the registration fee paid.

If you cancel your registration AFTER the course begins, the following costs will be deducted from your reimbursement:

  • The cost of classes already taken
  • A penalty set out by law, corresponding to the smaller of the following amounts: $50 or 10% of the price of the classes not taken

Is there a question we haven’t answered?
