Wood turning consist of using tools to cut shapes out of a piece of wood as it turns. To do this, pieces of wood are affixed to a lathe, which is driven by a motor that makes them spin. This technique is used to create a wide variety of objects, from bowls and plates to furniture legs and decorative pieces.
