Registration and reimbursement policy

registration

Course registration is done on line, on the selected course page. Registration to more than one course must be done on each individual course page. Deadline is 7 days prior to first class, as indicated on the course descriptive page. Each course can accept a limited number of participants and needs a fixed minimum to be held. Schedule may change according to the number of participants. In this case, all registered participants are contacted and consulted. You will receive a confirmation at least 5 days prior to the beginning. Access the course list.

To be valid, your registration must be completed by filling out the form, including your name, mailing address, email, and phone number, and by paying the fees in full.

fees and payment

Course fees include a $20 registration fee. They also include (unless otherwise specified): wood for practice and for final project, access to hand tools and machine-tools, protective earmuffs, goggles and steel-toed shoe covers on loan. You can bring your own protection accessories if you have them. For more details, consult description page of specific courses.

You can use one of the following two methods for payment:

INTERAC E-TRANSFER: You can make your payment using your financial institution’s Interac e-Transfer service. You must transfer the funds to the following email address: paiement@ebenisterie-art.ca. Please note that no security questions are required (we use an automatic deposit system). If you still want to use a security question, please, whatever that question is, the answer will necessarily have to be BOIS (to simplify transaction management). In addition, you must mention in the NOTES section the COURSE(s) or ATELIER MÉ RENTING you are paying.

CHECK: You can also send us your payment by check payable to the École d’ébénisterie d’art de Montréal, 5445, av. de Lorimier, Montréal, H2H 2S3 – care of Jessica Beauchemin.

If the ÉÉAM cannot offer the course for any reason, you will be informed as soon as possible and reimbursed in full.

cancelling

Cancelling your registration must be made before the beginning of the class. If you wish to cancel your registration after class has begun, you must pay both following fees :

  • Cost of classes already taken, and
  • A penalty provided under the law, which corresponds to the lesser of the following: $50 or 10% of the course fee for the portion not taken.

absence

If you miss a class for which your registration was confirmed and the class did take place, you lose that class. The ÉÉAM is under no obligation to reimburse or transfer your fee to another course.

safety

For safety reasons, all participants must make sure that nothing they wear, including rings, long hair, loose-fitting clothes, will jeopardize their safety or operation of the machines.
