The École d’ébénisterie d’art de Montréal offers a unique array of courses and workshops in woodworking! Courses are taught in small groups by qualified artisans. On top of making projects, you will learn through them to master different woodworking or finishing techniques, to use safely manual or power tools, as well as different machine tools. Please note that you must be 18 years or older to attend. Our courses are divided into three levels: BEGINNER, INTERMEDIATE and ADVANCED.
BEGINNER CLASS : Most of the courses offered are at the beginner level. They are open to everyone, without any prerequisites. Beginner courses are classified according to a chart presenting the technical challenge they represent. This charter is for information only! You can easily start with a “3 saw course” and then follow a “2 saw course”. Just let your curiosity guide you. The related techniques courses offer the exploration of complementary techniques to woodworking.
INTERMEDIATE CLASS : We currently offer one intermediate level courses L’apprenti 2 EN. It requires as a prerequisite, Apprenti 1 EN or intermediate level on woodworking machines.
ADVANCED CLASS : We do not offer advanced English courses at this time. If you are comfortable in French, L’apprentice 3 may interest you. Otherwise, we can develop a customized course adapted to your needs (minimum of six participants required). Contact us.
