The École d’ébénisterie d’art de Montréal (ÉÉAM) offers a technical college program in Applied Arts and Crafts – Fine Woodworking discipline. Borne of Jean-Marie Gauvreau’s École du meuble tradition, a beacon institution in Quebec’s creative furniture sphere of the last century, the ÉÉAM is dedicated to the training and development of fine woodworking artists in Quebec. On top of its quality technical education based on traditional know-how, the ÉÉAM has chosen to focus on design, creation and conceptual development in order to provide a balanced program on both technical and artistic perspectives; inspired by tradition, yet defined by a contemporary approach.
